The Halifax Regional Municipality is seeking expressions of interest from qualified candidates to serve as peer evaluators of the Municipality’s Grants to Professional Arts Organizations Program.
The Program will accept submissions until end-of-day March 22, 2019
Eligible applicants will be added to a standing roster of prospective jurors. Members will be selected from this roster annually and invited to perform assessment of applications to the Grant Program.
In identifying candidates, consideration shall be given to the following:
(i) artistic discipline or area of professional expertise;
(ii) regional perspective; and
(iii) community and cultural perspectives, and a diversity of representation.
Candidates will also be screened for potential conflicts of interest.
Selected reviewers will be paid a fee of $150.00 for attending one in-person meeting (est. 6-7 hours);
Reviewers will be paid a $100.00 reading fee for the review of 39 applications or less;
Eligible residents of the Halifax Regional Municipality wishing to be added to the active roster should submit the following:
- A brief introductory cover letter describing the applicant’s expertise and/or role within the local arts community (250 words maximum)
- A CV outlining the applicant’s relevant professional, academic, community and associated experience.
