2b is a Halifax-based and internationally-acclaimed theatre company creating works for the regional, national, and international stages. Artistic co-directors Christian Barry and Anthony Black share a commitment to create, develop, and produce new work that is distinguished by innovation in staging, polish in design, and virtuosity in performance. Last year, 2b toured productions to 11 cities in four countries with 113 performances. This is the company’s 15th anniversary season.

Ann-Marie Kerr & Lucy Hill
Ann-Marie is an award-winning theatre director, actor and teacher with work presented nationally and internationally at theatres and festivals including Festival TransAmériques (Montreal), Under the Radar (NYC) Luminato Festival (Toronto), & Edinburgh Festival Fringe (Scotland). Trained by Jacques Lecoq she is a sought-after director whose distinct work is both physically and visually vivid.
Lucy Hill is an actor, improviser and theatre creator. She has performed at the Globe Theatre (Regina) among many Western Canadian theatres. She has worked in shows ranging from classical to improv-based co-creations including her one-woman show Bertha that played to sold out audiences and to critical acclaim. She has been a key player in the Regina improv scene hosting a weekly show called Mix Improv and is an experienced improv teacher. She studied Commedia dell’arte in Italy with Antonio Fava – a training that continues to influence her work.

Mermaid Theatre’s unique adaptations of children’s literature have delighted more than five million young people on four continents. The company ranks among North America’s most respected theatres for the young, and has won widespread recognition for its important ambassadorial role. Mermaid regularly crosses North America, and has represented Canada in over a dozen countries.
Mermaid has earned Export Excellence Awards from both Nova Scotia and the Government of Canada in recognition for contributions to the Province’s culture and economy, and has merited an award for Best Performing Group from CAPACOA. The company’s touring productions are all designed, constructed, rehearsed, and managed from their headquarters in Windsor, Nova Scotia.

Off The Leash Creative has been producing venue and audience-friendly theatre since 2009, touring Canada & the USA. With a growing slate of shows, Off The Leash was named The Atlantic Presenter’s Association Touring Artist of The Year in 2014.

Onelight Theatre has been developing, producing and touring original theatre works since 2002. Under the guidance of Artistic Director, Shahin Sayadi, Onelight Theatre has developed a regional and national reputation for bringing new stories and new perspectives to the stage through innovative use of staging, music, movement, and multi-media.

Elizabeth Richardson writer/actress is a graduate of LAMDA and has performed in major theatre, film and television productions on both sides of the Atlantic. She has played leading parts in London’s West End, the Bristol Old Vic, Neptune Theatre, Shaw Festival and Canadian Stage. Running parallel to her acting career, Elizabeth has over 20 years experience as a practitioner and teacher of mindfulness meditation.

Established in 2003 as a vehicle for the interdisciplinary projects of Halifax-based actor/writer/tinkerer Dustin Harvey, Secret Theatre has grown to encompass a myriad of people and places come, gone and soon to be. Through the exploration of site and exploitation of media art, Secret Theatre creates meaningful moments that offer new ways of being together while shedding crooked light on how it is we’ve grown apart.

Nova Scotia’s award-winning Two Planks and a Passion Theatre is a professional company that has 20 years of touring experience. Heralded for both its unique large scale outdoor theatrical works at the Ross Creek Centre for the Arts and its sensitive and artistic interpretations of events from Canada’s history, the theatre has toured many works to every part of Canada, often in the communities portrayed onstage.

Zuppa Theatre Co. is an ensemble theatre company driven by a core group of artists developing original performances in collaboration with like-minded individuals from related disciplines. Every Zuppa show is a ride through wild visions, genres, familiar stories and the unknown; the experiences, thoughts and inclinations of the lead artists determine the landscape. The company has one numerous Robert Merritt Awards, including two for Outstanding Production.
