Atlantic Canadian Premiere, written by Leanna Brodie

Schoolhouse is one of three plays in Two Planks and a Passion's 30th Anniversary season which will take place this summer on the beautiful grounds of the Ross Creek Centre for the Arts in Canning.  "Each one of the plays were selected long before any of us knew that this past year would be so difficult and potentially transformative. And yet, in so many cases, these works speak powerfully to our moment in ways I could not imagine only one year ago. They speak to the power of art to lift us out of despair and tragedy, the responsibility of citizens to act to defend the institutions that matter to them and to the fragility of a small town beset by unforeseen challenges. These plays now feel like a response to the year we have just had, which is a testament, I believe, to their perceptive investigation into the human condition."  Artistic Director, Ken Schwartz
