The High School Ten Minute Play Contest

The Ten Minute Play Contest for 2019/2020 received dozens of excellent scripts in multiple languages from across the province.  All the playwrights received constructive feedback from our panel.

Theatre Nova Scotia, in partnership with Playwright’s Atlantic Resource Centre, is pleased to announce the results of the 2019/2020 Ten Minute Play Contest.


The winners were/les gagnants étaient:

1st Place/1e place: Another Stone in the River by Jessie Bruce, from Bridgetown Regional Community School in Bridgetown, NS.

Thought Bubbles by Giovanna Musial, from Halifax West High School in Halifax, NS.

Happyville by Finnian Brown, from Sir John A Macdonald High School in Upper Tantallon, NS.

A Day in the Life by Jayden Weir, from Sir John A Macdonald High School in Upper Tantallon, NS.

In June 2020, the top six playwrights received their prizes and attended virtual workshops with industry professionals to further develop their artistic work.

From all of us here at TNS and PARC, we would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to all who submitted their work to our contest. Nova Scotia is lucky to have such a group of talented future playwrights in our province.


All winner scripts will be available in TNS Script Library in July 2020
