TNS Library

Theatre Nova Scotia has a lending library available to members in good standing including scripts as well as theatre resource books, AV materials, and periodicals.

Search the catalog to below and contact the TNS office for information on borrowing.

If you are located outside of the HRM, materials may be mailed. Otherwise, they are available for pickup at the TNS office at 1113 Marginal Road in Halifax.

We encourage our members to ensure that TNS has a copy of the scripts that they plan to produce. Copies of these scripts can then be available to individual members as they prepare for auditions.

Theatre Nova Scotia is grateful to many individuals for their donations to enhance our library collection and to the volunteers who helped catalogue this collection.

Also see the resources of Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre, especially when considering unpublished Atlantic Canadian scripts.

Distance Borrowing

We understand our members are missing having live theatre in their lives at this time.

In order to help fill the void, TNS staff are making special efforts to bring some theatre content to you via our Distance Borrowing Program!

Here's how it works:

1) Browse our script selection online and find some works that interest you;

2) Email your list of desired titles (limit of 5) to theatrens@theatrens.ca;

3) TNS will contact you to coordinate either contactless pick-up or mailing of your selections.

 Orders will be prepared monthly.

Celebrating Nova Scotia's theatre talent

TNS acknowledges that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. We recognize the heritage of this land and its people to express gratitude to those who reside here, and to honour the Indigenous people who have lived and worked on this land historically and presently.
